Bath salts are a great way of getting rid of dead skin. They can be used in your relaxation regime also. They are wonderful moisturizing agents. They are cheap and easy to make at home for your own use. They can also be given as gifts.
Ingredients required
- 1cup of Epsom salt/ Sea salt
- 2 tablespoons liquid glycerin
- Food coloring and essential oils
How to make a bath salt
- Firstly mix together the cup of Baking soda and Epsom Salt.
- Add 2 tablespoons of Glycerin to the mixture, about four drops of food coloring and several drops of essential oil (such as peppermine, eucalyptus, or lemon — or all three).
- Mix well so as to avoid lumps
- Allow the mixture to sit overnight, to dry completely, if not, the mixture will become very hard and you will never get it out of your container.
- Your bath salt is ready now. You can transfer the salts to a decorative jar. If you’re planning to gift it, you can include a scoop, through which the salts can be scooped out. You can also include a card that explains the instructions regarding the use of bath salts.
What should be kept in mind?
- See to it that you add the bath salts just when you slip into the bath tub, as there are chances of the aroma being evaporated along with the hot steam.
- Do not add too much of oil while preparing the bath salt as it may irritate your skin.
- Pregnant woman, especially in their 3rd trimester, and people with high blood pressure or edema (swelling) should not use bath salts.
