Tips on cleaning your bathtub

Want to shine up your old rusted and stained bathtub? Want to make it look clean and presentable. Well keep in mind these simple techniques and also don’t forget to follow them.

  • Lemon Juice and Vinegar are great homemade degreasers and stain removers. They have great stain removing properties. Cut a lemon in half and rub it vigorously over the stains, or saturate a rag with vinegar and do the same. You will see the results after a few minutes.
  • Apply a paste of Hydrogen peroxide and the cream of tartar. Use an old tooth brush to scrub the paste on the stains. Rinse and check for progress.
  • Glove up your hands and apply Calcium Lime Rust, a liquid product on your bath tub. C L R is specially made to treat calcium- lime buildup and rust stains. It can be tough on your hands so make sure you glove them up properly.
  • If the staining is very severe use muratic acid or a toilet bowl cleaner. Both the products tend to burn the skin so please take proper precautions. Cover your hands and body properly and make sure no part is exposed.
  • If you are lucky and there is minor staining use oxalic acid.
