You can wash your hair without the help of a shampoo. The ingredients for your shampoo will be available in your kitchen shelf. This will work best if you wait a few days after your last hair washing. Your hair may also have to go through a “detox” period of greasy hair which can last a week or two. During this time your hair is getting rid of old shampoo build-up. Be patient. Some may be apprehensive about experimenting. Do not worry this technique surely does help.
Steps
- Combine one tablespoon of baking soda with one cup of hot or warm water in a plastic bottle. Shake it well and keep it aside. This should be done before your shower.
- Now take another plastic bottle in which combine two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (ACV) and a cup of water.
- After wetting your hair, pour the baking soda mix onto your hair. Massage your scalp for a few minutes. You will probably not feel the baking soda, but it’s there. Briefly work through the rest of your hair. Rinse.
- Now the second time apply the ACV solution and massage into your scalp. This should be followed by a cool rinse so as to close the pores and cut down the frizzles.
- ACV will smell like vinegar .Don’t worry once you have rinsed your hair the smell will go away. If it doesn’t, you are using too much ACV. Also do not use too much of baking soda as it tends to dry your hair.
- You don’t have to condition your hair every time you wash it with this solution.

I’m a hair stylist who understands the ins and outs of hair. If you follow this method of washing, you will find your hair limp and dirty with no shine. I have had two clients recently come in who were “washing” their hair with this solution. It was absolutely disgusting. Their hair was filthy and it smelled awful.
For those of you who are concerned about the chemicals in shampoo, buy sulfate-free shampoo or scalp balancing shampoo. PLEASE DO NOT use baking soda and vinegar!!! Think of the people who have to be around you and touch your hair! YUCK!

I don’t was hair with shampoo. Saving on the cost of it. I just make certain I really do a deep deep longer than fifteen minute was, and I rinse it again. I also do a deep body clean without shampoo unless I get into a horrible situation like being on the farm. Then I’ll possibly break down and use shampoo. No problems with nasty smelling hair so far or body. No one seems to notice. It also probably depends on where you live. For instance, I live out in the country, and then I work in have in country half in city like area.

I have a few friends who’ve tried this method with much success. They are receiving complements on the increased volume and shine of their hair. They’ve convinced me to give it a try. But I understand that this methods works with some people, but not with others. So, I’m keeping an open mind.
