The visual effect of natural plants in the bathroom is like an herb-bath for your eyes. Hot shower with the presence of plants in the bathroom gives a relaxing effect.
The current trend is to decorate and animate bathrooms with lively houseplants. Plants not only decorate the bathroom but add variety and beauty. They connect us with the wonders of the natural world.
Houseplants are a great way of decorating the bathroom. Not every houseplant is suitable for being placed in the bathroom. In order to choose the right plant for the bathroom, we must first understand what a bathroom would be like for plants: low light, high humidity and warm temperature.
Low Light
A bathroom is a place where there is not much sunlight. But for some plants artificial light also works. While shopping look for a combination of incandescent and fluorescent lights. However make sure you don’t expose your plants to light for more than 16 hours a day
High Humidity
Most plants thrive in 80% relative humidity while most homes are kept around 20% to 60%. However, usually a bathroom has the highest relative humidity, and so is perfect for most types of tropical houseplants.
Warm Temperature
The temperature in most homes is around 18°C to 26°C. This temperature is suitable for tropical plant growth. Avoid dramatic temperature changes. For example, cold and hot air blasts from windows could damage them.
In a word, tropical houseplants are the best option for bathroom plants since they can thrive on high humidity, warm temperature and low light.
