Mildew is a type of fungus which grows in warm and moist conditions. A shower is a perfect place for the growth of mildew as it is both warm and damp. The best way to keep out the shower mildew is to keep your shower dry.
Proper ventilation of the shower helps in the extraction of moisture. So, if you have mildew in your shower, check if your ventilation is proper. A bathroom exhaust fan is also necessary to get rid of the moisture in your bathroom.
Tips to Get Rid of Shower Mildew:
- Wipe your shower walls with a towel or a squeegee after a shower. This simple procedure can keep the bathroom dry and get rid of the mildew
- Use a bathroom exhaust fan to remove the humid air. Keep it switched on after your shower till your shower is dry
- You can use commercial cleaners in your shower regularly to get rid of the mildew. Bleach solution is also known to remove the mildew
- Ensure your bathroom has proper ventilation
- If there are cracks in the grout, the water can spread, resulting in mildew. Hence, check for cracks and repair them if they are present
- You can also use a dehumidifier in the room. The warming of the room extracts the moisture and gets rid of the mildew
- Electric heater is another option to get rid of moisture in your shower
